NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Highlights Infineon Raceway 2010 Season Schedule

Race Fans Get to Celebrate with Daytona 500 Winner in San Francisco, Feb. 17-

Race fans are invited to Willie Mays Plaza, home of the San Francisco Giants, on Wednesday, Feb. 17, for a midday rally with the winner of the 2010 Daytona 500.

For the second consecutive year, the winner of the Great American Race will come to San Francisco to meet with race fans, as well as take a San Francisco Victory Tour, all courtesy of Infineon Raceway and NASCAR.

"This was a really fun day and I was amazed at all of the fans out there," said driver Matt Kenseth, 2009 Daytona 500 winner who attended the inaugural Victory Tour. "I got to see a lot of San Francisco from the front of that cable car and experience a little of everything, so it was great."

The appearance marks the Official Countdown to the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend at Infineon Raceway, June 18-20 (Father's Day weekend).

The Victory Tour on Feb. 17 will take place on a motorized cable car and begin at Vista Point at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Race fans are encouraged to meet at Vista Point as the Victory Tour departs for the Golden Gate Bridge, followed by stops at Fisherman's Wharf and Ghirardelli Square, two of San Francisco's most well-known areas.

The winner will crack crab at Grotto #9 at Fisherman's Wharf and be presented with a basket of chocolate bars at Ghirardelli Square, commemorating his historic win in Daytona. He'll also be joined on the tour by popular afternoon talk-show host, Rod Brooks, who will broadcast live from the cable car for KNBR 680 AM.

The Victory Tour will eventually wind up at Willie Mays Plaza. The winner will greet the great race fans of Northern California, as well as take part in a press conference and fan rally that will be open to the public.

The Victory Tour will begin at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge (Vista Point) at approximately noon (PT), and plans are to arrive at Willie Mays Plaza at around 12:45 p.m. for the rally. Race tickets to the Toyota/Save Mart 350 will be available at the rally, including special packages featuring drivers Kasey Kahne and Jimmie Johnson.
