ELK GROVE -
Homeowners will do whatever it takes to avoid foreclosure.
Among the clutter of " Craigslist" Ads....one stood out..."Disabled Vet and Family Need Help."
If James Marzano doesn't come up with thousands of dollars. He will lose his 3-bedroom Elk Grove home in six days.
"The thought of losing it as a man makes me feel like a failure."
Failure has never been an option for James who is a Navy war veteran with an excellent record.
"A true diamond in the rough."
James fell upon tough times after getting injured as a combat engineer.
The military only gives him 200 dollars a month and because he's disabled, he can't work or pay his mortgage.
He says, "There are no programs to help veterans from losing their homes."
In a last effort to keep a roof over his wife's and three kids' heads...he's turned to "Craigslist."
"I was hoping for a blessing. Maybe there is somebody out there that could point me in the right direction or pray for me, help support me."
He says he's making sacrifices and not out to scam anyone. All this family needs is somebody to open up their heart.
He's asking for donations or advice on how to get a loan. He's even sent letters to President Obama and Governor Schwarzenegger, asking for help.
