Street Closures Saturday for new Church

SACRAMENTO—

J Street in downtown Sacramento will close for most of Saturday for a church’s grand opening.

The Church of Scientology is opening a new location at 6^th and J Streets this weekend.

They are completely closing J Street between 5^th and 7^th Streets for just over an hour Saturday around 2 p.m. In addition, the church will be blocking a few lanes of J Street all day long.

L. Ron Hubbard's Scientology subject has spawned so many ironies. The official movement tries hard to win local favor, but simultaneiously they act maliciously to their members and former members. The former members have for decades still considered themselves, a lot of them, Scientologists. The freezone and independent Scientologists are "excommunicated" from official Scientology, yet the freezone and independent Scientologists act clearly more tolerant and like normal citizens, they can be talked to easily, they are not crazy reactive.

When official Scientology somehow evolves to behave more like it's more tolerant ex members, then they will deserve more public support. Which means dispensing with a lot of the draconian fundamentalist extremist L. Ron Hubbard Scientology church policies. That's an evolution that the freezoen and independent Scientologists have thankfully made!

Hope official Scientology evolves out of it's draconian cult extremist cult mentality soon!

Scientology is always hungry for good PR. That’s because it has such bad PR with its scandalous nature of pressuring people to spend thousands, tens of thousand, even hundreds of thousands of dollars, and put in hundreds of hours of time, for mediocre results. Not to mention not allowing members to freely view anything negative about it (that’s part of how they control people). Not to mention estranging families and friends if they disagree with it. Anyone who looks instead of listens would see that it’s been shrinking over the years. How many missions in the area are now closed? How many auditors (Scn counselors) and Clears (a counseling level) are being made? The leader of the church, David Miscavige, is a self-appointed dictator who has veered Scn completely off its original path. Now it’s all about sucking money out of parishioners for big fancy buildings when the founder L Ron Hubbard never said to expand that way. It’s right in the policies, but they ignore it. They’ve stooped to blind faith, when it’s supposed to be about thinking for oneself. Notice I never wrote the “Church” of Scn. Wow, this is an exciting event! I've seen the Scientology churches from pictures and I'm glad there's gonna be one within the area. Scientology has turned a lot of historical landmarks into beautiful churches and I'm sure this one will be a beautiful place.
