Strong Winds Hit the Valley
YOLO COUNTY - Gusty winds left their mark across the valley Saturday. In Yolo County, the winds knocked over more than 500 trees at the Davis Boy Scouts Christmas Tree farm-- none of the trees was damaged, but there was quite a mess.

"The trees fell over. We just set 'em back up again," said Bill Grabert of the Davis Boy Scouts.

A shelter on the Scouts tree lot didn't fair as well. Two metal pipes were destroyed by the wind -- one bent over at 90 degree angle, another sheared in two by the force.

Elsewhere in Yolo County, things weren't much better. Caltrans crews were busy putting up swinging road signs on West Capitol Avenue in West Sacramento. That was going on just feet away from a downed power line snapped by the wind.

FOX40 wasn't immune to problems either. Reporter Andria Borba was driving westbound on I-80 when a piece of plywood whipped across the road smacking her windshield and leaving a large crack.
