Browns Valley resident Josephine Ciolino came face to face with the suspect on Thursday.

"I come out, he was standing by the window looking in. And then when I went up and asked him what he wanted, and he said, Oh, I got the wrong house" Ciolino said.

Also on Thursday, police called neighbors to warn them of the serial burglar, using a recorded message.

But that warning came too late for one family.

"It's very disturbing to have somebody break into your home take really private items. That's really very disturbing," said retired Solano Sheriff's Sgt. Kelly Datzman, whose home was hit by the burglar on Thursday, while no one was there.

"We live right around the street from a school. There was a lot of young children out and about when this crime occurred which is very disturbing," Datzman said.

Disturbing as this was the 13th burglary he committed in Browns Valley just since Saturday.

"If there weren't vehicles in the driveway, he was targeting those homes," Vacaville police Sgt. Denise Quatman said.

"All of my drawers in the bedroom, dresser drawers were opened. And all of my jewelry pulled out of the drawers," Datzman said.

With Datzman's fiance, also being a deputy, their home is locked up tight. But the burglar found his way in by breaking through a kitchen window in the back of the house.

Cops have assigned extra patrols in the area.

Meanwhile, the deputy has a message for the burglar.

"I hope you get caught," Deputy Leonard Alexandre said. "I'm sure sooner or later, his luck will run out."
