Houston -
A Texas Southern University spokeswoman says six people were shot and wounded at a community rally on the Texas Southern University campus in what police believe was a gang-related drive-by shooting.
TSU spokeswoman Eva Pickens says one male student was among those injured Wednesday night.
Pickens says witnesses told police people in a car drove by the outdoor event where a popular Houston rapper was promoting a school supply giveaway and opened fire.
Six people were shot. Pickens says they are being treated at hospitals for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Campus police believe the incident was the result of rivalry between two suburban gangs.
