An educator, decorated by his students as being a "great friend" and a "cool teacher," has been arrested on accusations of engaging in sexual activity with a minor in 2006.
Lodi Police arrested Andrew Krienke, a history teacher at Lodi High School, after their investigation revealed Krienke had an inappropriate sexual relationship with one of his former students. The unnamed 20-year-old victim was a minor at the time who, according to police, would frequent Krienke's apartment that sat just one block away from campus.
Krienke admitted to authorities that he had been living with his former student for more than five months now and fathered a child with her.
Krienke's rank on a popular teacher rating website shows admiration on behalf of his students. Comments like "Best teacher I've ever had!" and "Has to be the coolest teacher ever" litter Krienke's comment board on RateMyTeachers.com.
The "coolest teacher ever" is now behind bars with felony charges that include sex with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Krienke posted $15,000 bail shortly after he was arrested. Lodi school officials say he has been placed on administrative paid leave.
