SACRAMENTO -
A plastic surgeon was sentenced to 3 years, 8 months in prison, the maximum allowed under his plea deal.
Dr. Scott Takasugi was facing accusations of sexual exploitation from 15 female patients, three of whom were minors at the time.
In June, Dr. Takasugi pleaded no-contest to 2 of the 21 felony counts brought against him in Sacramento Superior Court.
After sentencing was continued twice, Dr. Takasugi failed to show up for sentencing Friday, November 20th.
The following Monday, his attorney told the court the Doctor was in a psychiatric hospital on a 72-hour hold. The sentencing was rescheduled for this morning.
