ANTELOPE—
Police said three teen boys are responsible for a rash of break-ins at Dudley Elementary in Antelope, that began last night."This is rather amazing. This the fourth burglary attempt in the last 24 hours," said William Cho, of the Twin Rivers Police Department.
And there is still one more teen out there.
The trio's work began around 10:30 Friday night , and continued until late Sunday afternoon.
Cops say the teens hit the school four times, leaving evidence of the break-ins along their path.
"All four times, we found broken windows, classrooms ransacked, broken glass all over the ground," Cho said.
On the teens' third attempt just after noon today, officers witnessed two of the suspects running away with the their arms full.
"They did manage to get away with computer equipment. There were some computers missing and other items as well," Cho said.
They called in the calvary - and four other agencies responded, with help from a police dog and helicopter. But the young suspects still got away.
With police still on scene, the trio tried yet again to break in. But this time, two of them ended up in cuffs.
So are these dumb suspects or pretty gutsy
"A little bit of both. They had to be very determined to come to the same location four times in less than 24 hours," Cho added.
