NORTH HIGHLANDS—
One person died and another was injured after a robbery turned violent at a Sacramento County pharmacy.The robbery took place shortly after 12:30pm Thursday at the Rexall Pharmacy on Watt Avenue in North Highlands.
It's unclear who fired two shots that struck two female employees. One employee, who is eight-months pregnant, was shot in the foot while the other was shot in the chest.
The second female employee died at an area hospital Thursday afternoon.
It's unclear who fired both shots. A store employee armed himself with a gun and gave chase after the two robbery suspects.
The employee told FOX40 News he believes he struck one of the suspects. Authorities confirmed a trail of blood was outside the pharmacy.
Authorities are now looking for the two suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call Sacramento Police or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP.
