VACAVILLE -
Solano County health officials are trying to determine if a first-grade girl from Browns Valley Elementary School in Vacaville died of the H1N1 Swine Flu virus.
Solano County Public Health Official Robin Cox told The Vacaville Reporter's Danny Bernardini that no extra precautions are being taken at Browns Valley until after test results return indicating a positive or negative diagnosis of Swine Flu.
"We would want to be very careful," Cox told The Reporter. "Everyone is pending results."
A thorough, longer version of the Swine Flu test is being conducted on the remains of the child, as opposed to a shorter, quicker test.
Browns Valley Elementary notified parents of the child's death by phone and e-mail Tuesday, with parents of children in the girl's immediate class receiving a phone call Monday evening from the principal at the school. Officials with Browns Valley Elementary say there's no reason to adjust the school schedule or make any classroom changes until test results from the child return.
