RANCHO CORDOVA—
"It's shocking!"It's like, so interesting."
Two eight-year-olds exclaimed, after seeing heavy hail fall over Rancho Cordova on Friday.
They said they've never seen anything like that before.
But neither has Don Dupriest, in the 47 years he's lived there.
"This is the worst hail storm I've ever seen here," Dupriest said.
He said the hail came down hard for about 20 minutes.
"It was so heavy. I was talking on the phone and I had to eliminate the call. It was just too noisy to hear," Dupriest said.
Michelle Miles remembers years ago when snow flakes fell in the area, but they disappeared as soon as they hit the ground. Friday, was very exciting.
"It was completely white. So I went out and I got my phone and I took a picture so I could shoot it to my daughters, because normally this is not what it looks like in Sacramento," Miles said.
But aside from the excitement for many seeing snow-like weather, the cold hearted truth is, it was difficult for the area's homeless.
"I'm wet. That's why I'm here at Denny's, I came in here to eat, dry off a little bit," Sherlyn Ozimy said. "But I still gotta go back out into this. And it hurt."
