A chance encounter online gave a FOX40 staffer the shock of his life on twitter.

FOX40 Web Producer Matthew Keys received a tweet from a guy named Adam Smith saying, "Hey you're my brother."

Keys said, "Adam found me yesterday, and pretty much revealed to me I have two brothers I never knew existed."

Now it's a family union for Matthew and his new little brother Adam who live just ten minutes from each other in Sacramento.

Smith said, "I don't like to have questions unanswered and I'm curious like that."

Adam's curiosity started a few years ago when his mom told him a little something about his dad's past relationships. Adam's mom then started dropping names and Matthew Keys was one of them.

Smith said, "I just hoped that Matthew would have a Facebook or Twitter account."

That hunch was a slam dunk for Adam. He found Matthew on his FOX40 twitter account. But what was even more shocking is that these two met before in a chat room, but didn't know that they were related.

Now it is time to catch up, as Matthew gets to know not only Adam, but his other half-brother Jacob. Keys said, "I knew it wasn't a joke, this was legit and that my brother that I never met for twenty years was talking to me on-line."

Matthew and Adam are now on a mission to find more long lost siblings. It seems their father may have other children out there. But for now these brothers are focused on this shocking discovery. Keys said, "It's so surreal it's very overwhelming."

Matthew and Adam are now planning a big party to unite the family.
