A Stanislaus County Sheriff's Deputy is at a Modesto hospital recovering from minor injuries after a car accident early this morning.
The deputy was driving on Carpenter Road at Robertson Road when witnesses say another driver ran the officer off the road. The officer's car hit a fire hydrant, shearing it off and sending a 40 foot geyser into the air. Carpenter Road was closed for about an hour.
Police are looking for a red Toyota Corolla.
