Illegal Fireworks Sold On Internet
SACRAMENTO - From Roman candles to bottle rockets, illegal fireworks are being sold on the internet.

"The days of people going into neighborhoods selling them out of their car is really gone," said Daniel Berlant with Cal Fire.

Fire officials are keeping tabs on popular websites like Craigslist.

"Everyday our fire marshalls go through different internet sites like Craigslist to try and track them down," said Berlant.

Cal Fire has spotted several different ads posted from up and down the state. Most ads are for illegal fireworks for sale, while others are soliciting for the banned fireworks.

"We're working very closely with companies like Craigslist to get those removed and also working with local police departments and fire departments trying to track down those people," Berlant said.

Any firework that shoots up into the air is illegal. They cause a big fire risk that firefighters say they won't take lightly.

"Whether they're legal and just in an area that they're not permitted or they're illegal fireworks, we will not tolerate them."
