FOLSOM -
The Sacramento County District Attorney's office says two Folsom police officers were justified in shooting a man at his home while responding to a call for help from the man's family.
The district attorney's office Tuesday announced that it had cleared officer Paul Barber and Sgt. Ron Peterson of any criminal liability in the shooting death of 23-year-old Joseph Han.
The officers responded to Han's home on April 12 after family remembers reported Han had locked himself in a room with a knife, had not eaten in days and claimed he was God.
Authorities say the officers opened fire after Han refused to drop a knife and advanced toward them. An earlier effort to subdue him using a Taser had apparently failed.
Han later died at UC Davis Medical Center.
