Roseville resident Brandon Moreno, 20, admitted guilt in the DUI death of one man and the injury of another
ROSEVILLE -
A Roseville man accused of killing one man and injuring another following a drunk driving collision has plead guilty in Placer County court.
Brandon Moreno, 20, entered the plea June 24th with hopes of a reduced sentence that could come in the form of seven years worth of prison time.
Moreno is accused of driving while intoxicated in December of last year with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit. One passenger, 20-year-old Brandon Keith of Roseville, was killed when Moreno's vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree.
Joseph Castillon, a third passenger in the vehicle, was injured. A fourth passenger was not injured.
According to a press release issued by Placer County today, Moreno was charged with gross vehicular maslaughter while intoxicated, driving while under the influence and admitted to special allegation of causing great bodily injury.
Moreno is scheduled to appear for sentencing in Placer County Superior Court on September 17th.
