WATERFORD -
A teenager drowned in Stanislaus County Friday.
The 17-year-old boy was swimming in the Modesto Irrigation District canal in the town of Waterford when he went under.
Searchers later recovered his body.
They say the water in the canal was moving rapidly.
The teen was with another family member.
Authorities have not released the victim's name.
