Police have shot two large, aggressive pit bulls who were found wandering through several Carmichael neighborhoods.
The dogs reportedly bit three to five people before being captured by Sacramento County Animal Control officers.
The wandering dogs prompted the lockdown of nearby Whitney Avenue Elementary School. Animal Control officials report no children were attacked by the dogs.
The lockdown has since been lifted at the school. The dogs will be tested at the Sacramento Animal Control Center for rabies.
