LOOMIS -
The Placer County Sheriff's Department arrested eight suspects Tuesday night at a Loomis home along Auburn Folsom Road. Six are suspected of operating a counterfeit currency ring headquartered at the home since March of this year.
Arrested at the address were: Michael Patrick Casey, 37 Years old of Loomis. Jorge Luis Pena, 53 Years Old of Loomis. Mark Randall Cosme, 23 years old of Loomis. Benjamin Martin Nunez, 37 Years old of Loomis. Etta Sanders, 38 years old of Loomis. Tracy Irene McCormick, 33 years old of Loomis.
Two additional suspects were taken into custody for arrest warrants not related to the counterfeit operation. These suspects were identified as Daniel Kral, 36 years old of Loomis and Stacy Lee Brady 33 years old of Sacramento.
According to the Sheriff's Department, some of the suspects were seen on surveillance video passing the phony money at Target stores in Placer County.
No word how much counterfeit money the ring produced. Some of it may still be in circulation.
This is the second counterfeit currency operation broken up by Placer County detectives in the last week.
