Parents Arrested After Children Found Wandering Alone In Apartment Complex
SACRAMENTO - Two children are in protective custody after being found wandering around a Sacramento apartment complex shirtless and without shoes.

Sacramento Police say two children were found by neighbors of an apartment complex in the 2000 block of San Juan Road Monday evening. Police were able to locate the father of the children, 33-year-old Jonathan Liberti.

Liberti told police he had no idea where the children were. Officers, suspecting Liberti was under the influence of narcotics, searched an apartment reportedly belonging to Liberti and the two children.

During the search, officers report the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Officers say the apartment was unkempt and there was no food inside.

Liberti was arrested on charges of child endangerment and possession of narcotics, both felony charges. Shortly before officers departed the scene, the children's mother, 23-year-old Antoinette Liberti, arrived on-scene and was also arrested for meth possession and child endangerment.

Both have been booked into Sacramento County Jail. Jonathan Liberti is being held on $50,000 bail, while Antoinette Liberti is being held on $75,000 bail.

The children were placed into protective custody.
