Marjorie Loyd was 95 when she stopped driving. That's when she decided to buy her first computer. And two weeks ago, with her computer, she made a new friend, called Facebook. "I had several members of my family and friends telling me I ought to get on Facebook," Marjorie Loyd said. And so she did. At 98, Marjorie's got a lot of know-how. She can't simply read off her screen and respond.

"I can't read it see. But I could copy it on my printer, and put it over there so I could read it," she said. "So it makes me much more independent that I was before."

Marjorie said she's humbled by her computer as she continues to learn, even at 98.

In her earlier years, Marjorie attended business school, and eventually started her own typewriter business. She later married a doctor and had two girls. Today, she has four grandkids and eight great-grandchildren.

So far, Marjorie's got 19 Facebook friends, and since a story ran in the Bee about her, she's gotten 12 more friend requests.

"I've done nothing about that," Marjorie said with a chuckle. It might be a good way to meet some guys, too, on Facebook. "Well, I really not interested. I know enough wonderful guys, all ages," she added.

"You wanna be my friend?" she asked reporter Rowena Shaddox. "Sure. Absolutely. You wanna be my friend, too?" Shaddox asked. "Why would you wanna be my friend?" Marjorie said. "'Cause I think that you're a neat lady," Shaddox replied. "Well, I think you're a neat lady, too, to not mind that I have my pajamas on," Marjorie said.
