After getting a degree in Communications from California State University Sacramento, Ben Ormsby started his news career in the Production Department as an editor and studio camera operator. When the Assignment Desk Assistant job opened up, he applied and eventually got it. Since then, he has been promoted to Assignment Editor, where he basically oversees what is best described as controlled chaos.
Ben has an intimate knowledge of the news, and of where every Reporter and Photographer are at every moment of the day. He possesses an overriding attraction to breaking news, keeping his ears on the radio scanner, listening for police and fire calls on structure fires, bus accidents and assorted crimes. It might sound strange, but Ben gets a rush from getting the FOX40 crew to the scene first, and beating the other stations to the biggest story of the day.Ben's Beat:
