Party promoter Kevin Kennedy organized the event last month, in which a 14-year-old girl was shot and killed.

Last week, state parole agents arrested Kennedy because they said he is a sex offender, who violated his parole by being at that party.

From the jail in Elk Grove, Kennedy told FOX40 by phone that he wasn't even there that night.

He also said his initial offense wasn't the sexual kind.

"I ain't never molested or raped anybody," he said, adding that the offense stems from six years ago, when he ran an escort service with girls he didn't know were underage at the time.

"Once you found out they were minors, you shut it down?" FOX40 asked.

"I shut it down."

On Wednesday, the Sheriff's department booked him for contributing to the delinquency of a minor for holding the under 21 party passed the county's 10 p.m. curfew for minors.

Meanwhile, the property owners say Kennedy owes them some $15,000 for several months he leased the place.

"No, they're lying," Kennedy said. He paid them for only two months because the property was a broken mess, he said.

The Patel brothers showed paperwork with Kennedy's signature, agreeing to run a restaurant, not dance parties.

The Sheriff's department said Kennedy didn't have the license either way.

"Instead of renting for a restaurant, he started a venue for rent. So I was not knowing. If I was knowing, I cannot rent him, " one of the brothers said.
