SUPER JOURNALISTS: (Full-Time) Do you follow the newspaper, or does the newspaper follow you? Are you insanely curious about what you see in everyday life? Do you find three story ideas while in the grocery store checkout line? Love to build sources? In touch with online communities no one has heard of but you? Are you wildly organized so you never miss a follow-up? Do you find your own solutions to problems before calling your EP? Do you realize that you can break a story instantly online, instead of waiting for the 10pm news? Reporters will write 1 to 2 packages a day, in addition to posting video and text to FOX40.com. Some days you might get to shoot and edit your own story. ASSOCIATE PRODUCER: We're hiring future producers, who will be producers-in-training. You must be able to write incredibly quickly, and conversationally. If you've ever used the word "frequent" as a verb or "altercation" to describe a fight, don't bother to apply. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to creatively stack a show. The Associate Producers write for the shows, but also fill-in producing after they're up to speed. We're looking for eager people who want to learn EVERYTHING about news and television. You must have fantastic technology skills, combined with good news judgment. You'll post video online, work on the assignment desk, shoot video in the field, edit tape, run TelePrompTer, write scripts, and even help in other departments. The two over-achievers we hire for this must have a broad range of skills and aptitudes, and be comfortable both in creating content, and doing the production work.
